We’ve had an eventful year, and as we start to wrap up 2024, we reflect on what we have achieved across our businesses this year.

In 2024, On Country Business group, alongside our Indigenous and Business partners has continued to work towards our mission to create opportunities On Country and support Indigenous Australian communities

Highlights for 2024

On Country Business

  • Advocated for partnerships with Traditional Owners and Indigenous businesses and industry at key events including the Annual AEMEE Conference, Supply Nation Connect, Bowen Basin Mining Club, QRC Indigenous Procurement
  • Built valuable connections with other Indigenous businesses
  • Worked with TO Groups across the OCB Group including:
    • Western Kangoulu
    • Darumbal
    • Wangan & Jagalingou
    • Yunbenun
    • Birriah

Woongal Environmental Services

  • Opened a new office/workshop in Emerald to support our growing team and operations in the area
  • Training and development for our Indigenous Rangers in equipping them with new skills in environmental management including cultural burning 
  • Welcomed new clients, expanding our client base and expanding to new industries
  • Established new partnerships with other environmental services businesses 

On Country Heritage

  • Officially launched On Country Heritage to support Traditional Owner groups with protecting and preserving cultural heritage
  • Expanded our team by welcoming additional archaeologists, enhancing our capability in cultural heritage preservation and management projects

Partners On Country

  • Broadened our impact through the POC x Edmen partnership, to create new opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in the community sector
  • Opened new job opportunities for Indigenous communities, including youth worker roles and student youth worker roles as well as new roles within the resource sector
  • Fostered potential new partnerships with other workforce solutions businesses looking to recruit Indigenous workers
  • Helped PeopleIn develop and implement their RAP

On Country Workforce Solutions

  • Ongoing projects with the Yunbenun Rangers and QPWS 
  • Delivered mining industry inductions to support workforce readiness.
  • Expanded recruitment services to better support our Partner Businesses.
